Job Summary

Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur, invites applications from eligible candidates for its VNIT Recruitment 2024. We are conducting a walk-in interview for Adhoc Assistant Professor vacancies in Nagpur, Maharashtra for the 2024-25 academic session. This is an excellent opportunity for qualified professionals with B.Tech, M.Tech, or Ph.D. degrees to join a prestigious National Institute of Technology. These positions are offered on a purely temporary, ad-hoc basis for the ensuing odd semester.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical/laboratory sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate engineering courses.
• Develop, prepare, and update course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, and assignments.
• Evaluate and grade student class work, assignments, and examination papers in a timely and fair manner.
• Contribute to the academic and administrative activities of the department as assigned by the Head of the Department.
• Mentor and guide students on academic matters and final year projects.

Required Qualifications

• Educational Background: A Ph.D., M.E./M.Tech, M.Phil, M.Sc, or B.E./B.Tech in a relevant discipline from a recognized university or institute.
• Engineering Disciplines: Openings are available in various departments, including but not limited to:
  • Civil Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electronics and Communication Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Computer Science & Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mining Engineering
  • Metallurgical Engineering
• Age Limit: Candidates must be between 21 and 45 years of age.

Preferred Qualifications

• A Ph.D. in the relevant field is highly preferred.
• Prior teaching experience at a reputable engineering college or university.
• Candidates who have qualified in national-level examinations like NET/SET.
• A record of published research papers in recognized academic journals.

Salary & Benefits

Consolidated Salary: A competitive monthly salary ranging from Rs. 55,000/- to Rs. 70,000/-.
Employment Type: This is a temporary, contractual position for one semester, with the possibility of extension based on performance and institutional requirements.
