Key Responsibilities

  • Engage actively in the design and development of a Multi-Material Direct Energy Deposition (DED) based Additive Manufacturing system.
  • Conduct rigorous testing and validation protocols for Functionally Graded Materials (FGM) fabrication.
  • Maintain detailed project documentation as per SERB funding agency requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with the Principal Investigator (PI) and departmental faculty on research advancements.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations summarizing research outcomes periodically.
  • Ensure strict adherence to laboratory safety standards during all experimental work.

Required Qualifications

  • Possess a B.E./B.Tech. degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Must hold an M.E./M.Tech. degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferably with specialization in Machine Design, Manufacturing, CAD-CAM, or Production Engineering.
  • For B.E/B.Tech holders, a valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score is mandatory for consideration.
  • Academic performance must reflect first-class marks throughout the qualifying degrees.
  • Age should not exceed 35 years as of the interview date.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience working on Additive Manufacturing (AM) or 3D Printing projects.
  • Familiarity with Direct Energy Deposition (DED) process parameters and control systems.
  • Prior exposure to research projects funded by national agencies like SERB or DST.
  • Strong analytical skills in handling complex material science data related to FGM.

Salary and Benefits

The fellowship amount for the Project Associate-I position is fixed at Rs. 31,000/- per month (Minimum Salary: Rs. 30,000 /- per month, plus HRA as per SERB norms). This is a research fellowship and includes:

  • House Rent Allowance (HRA) based on institutional rules.
