Job Summary

Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC) is inviting applications for the esteemed position of Food Safety Officer. Online applications are invited from bonafide citizen of India for direct recruitment to
16 (Sixteen) nos. of posts of Food Safety Officer, Group-B Gazetted under Health & Family
Welfare Department Govt. of Tripura in the Pay Matrix Level-13 under Tripura State Civil
Services(Revised Pay) rules,2017 with its amendment(s)subject to revision by the
Government from time to time.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of food businesses to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
• Investigate food adulteration cases and take appropriate enforcement actions.
• Monitor food quality and hygiene standards across the state.
• Educate food business operators on best practices in food safety.
• Analyze food samples to detect contaminants or adulterants.
• Prepare detailed reports on inspection findings and enforcement activities.
• Implement and oversee food safety management systems.

Required Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Biotechnology, Oil Technology, Agricultural Science, Veterinary Science, or a related field from a recognized university.
• Knowledge of Food Laws and Regulations.
• Ability to conduct inspections and investigations effectively.
• Educational and other qualification required for direct recruitment:
  ESSENTIAL:
  (I)A Bachelor’s or Master’s or Doctorate degree in Food Technology or Dairy
  Technology or Biotechnology or Oil Technology or Agriculture Science or Veterinary
  Sciences or Bio-Chemistry or Microbiology or Chemistry or Medicine from recognized
  university.
  OR
  As amended time to time by the Government of India.

  Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery or Bachelor of Unani Medicine and
  Surgery or Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery or Bachelor of Ayurvedic
  Medicine and Surgery or Bachelor of Sowa Rigpa Medicine and Surgery”.
  (II)Permanent Resident Certificate (PRTC) would be required for the post by the direct
  recruitment as per provision of Notification vide No.F.23(8)-GA(P&T)/2023 dated 7th
  July 2023.
  Desirable Qualification: Knowledge of Bengali or Kokborok.

• Master’s degree in Food Science, Public Health, or a related field.
• Experience in food quality control or regulatory affairs.
• Familiarity with laboratory analysis of food samples.
• Strong communication and report-writing skills.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for the Food Safety Officer position will be as per the pay matrix of the 7th Central Pay Commission, typically Level 6. Benefits may include dearness allowance, house rent allowance, medical facilities, and other government-specified allowances.

(b) Link for Online Application Portal will be available on Commission’s website from
07-08-2025 to 02-09-2025(5.30 PM). Before applying for the post, an applicant (New
user) shall register his/her bio-data particulars through One Time Profile Registration
(OTPR) on the Commission’s Website viz. https://tpsc.tripura.gov.in Once applicant
registers his/her particulars, a User ID is generated and sent to his/her registered
mobile number / email ID. Applicants need to apply for the post using the OTPR User
ID through the Commission’s website.
(c) Applicants should avoid submitting multiple applications through different
registration. However, if due to any unavoidable circumstances, any applicant
submits multiple applications then he/she must ensure that the application with
latest Application Number is complete in all respect.
(d) In case of multiple applications, the application with latest Application Number
shall only be entertained by the Commission and fee paid against one Application
Number shall not be adjusted against any other Application Number.
