Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed numerical simulations using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software.
- Assist in the setup, calibration, and operation of experimental apparatus for combustion analysis.
- Perform rigorous data collection, post-processing, and interpretation of experimental and numerical results.
- Contribute to the preparation of detailed project progress reports and manuscripts for publication in scientific journals.
- Collaborate with the Principal Investigator and other team members to meet project milestones and objectives.
- Maintain accurate records of all research activities and findings.
Required Qualifications
- M.Tech or M.E. in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Thermal, Fluid, Energy, Propulsion, or Combustion, along with a qualified GATE score.
- OR B.Tech or B.E. in Mechanical Engineering with a valid and competitive GATE score.
- OR M.Sc. in Physics or Mathematics with a valid GATE or CSIR-UGC NET score.
- A minimum of 60% marks (or an equivalent CGPA) in the qualifying degree.
- The maximum age limit is 28 years, with relaxations applicable as per Government of India norms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Practical experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software packages.
- Familiarity with advanced laser diagnostic techniques such as Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) or Planar Laser-Induced Fluorescence (PLIF).
- Strong programming skills in languages like MATLAB, C++, or Python.
- A demonstrated interest in academic research, evidenced by prior projects or publications.
Salary and Benefits
The selected Junior Research Fellow will receive a consolidated monthly stipend and additional benefits as per the funding agency’s guidelines.
Monthly Stipend: ₹37,000 per month.
House Rent Allowance (HRA): HRA will be provided as per SERB and IIT Indore institutional norms.
Project Duration: The position is initially for one year and may be extended based on performance and project requirements.
