Key Responsibilities
- Conduct molecular biology experiments, including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, and gene expression analysis.
- Collect, process, and analyze biological samples from riverine buffaloes.
- Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records and experimental data.
- Assist senior researchers in data interpretation, analysis, and the preparation of reports and manuscripts for publication.
- Contribute to the day-to-day management of the research laboratory and project activities.
- Stay updated with relevant scientific literature to support the project’s objectives.
Required Qualifications
- M.V.Sc. in Animal Biotechnology, Animal Genetics & Breeding, Veterinary Physiology & Biochemistry, or Veterinary Microbiology.
- OR M.Sc. in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or Life Sciences, along with a mandatory NET qualification.
- OR M.Tech in Animal Biotechnology or Biotechnology.
- Age Limit: Candidates must be between 21 and 35 years old.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with common molecular biology techniques.
- Familiarity with data analysis software and bioinformatics tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Prior experience in a research environment, particularly with large animals.
Salary and Benefits
The selected Junior Research Fellow will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 31,000/- plus House Rent Allowance (HRA) as per the norms set by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB).
