Key Responsibilities
- Conduct extensive field surveys to collect data on Bactrocera species.
- Perform laboratory-based experiments related to entomology and molecular biology.
- Assist the Principal Investigator (PI) in data compilation, analysis, and interpretation.
- Prepare detailed research reports, manuscripts, and scientific presentations.
- Maintain accurate records of all experimental procedures and outcomes.
- Collaborate with the research team to ensure project milestones are met on schedule.
- Manage and maintain laboratory equipment and consumables.
Required Qualifications
- M.Sc. in Zoology or Life Sciences with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks.
- Must have qualified in a national eligibility test such as CSIR-UGC NET or GATE.
- Age limit as per the norms set by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior research experience in the fields of entomology or molecular biology.
- Strong practical skills in laboratory techniques and data analysis software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for scientific reporting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative research team.
Salary and Benefits
The selected Junior Research Fellow will receive a consolidated monthly fellowship as per the funding agency’s guidelines.
