
Eligibility Conditions
Indian Navy SSR (Medical Assistant) Recruitment 2025
To apply for the SSR (Medical) recruitment, candidates must meet the following eligibility conditions:
- Application Deadline: The exact dates for the application process will be announced on the official website. Candidates are advised to keep an eye on the updates.
- Educational Qualifications: Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) from a recognized board with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and at least 40% in each subject. Candidates appearing for the 12th Board Exam in the academic year 2024-25 are also eligible to apply, provided they meet all other eligibility criteria. Such candidates will be selected only when they produce the original marksheet during the subsequent stages of the recruitment process (internet copy of marksheet is not acceptable) and secure the minimum required marks in aggregate as well as in individual subjects.
- Age Criteria:
- SSR (Medical) 02/2025 Batch: Candidates should be born between 01 September 2004 and 29 February 2008 (both dates inclusive).
- SSR (Medical) 02/2026 Batch: Candidates should be born between 01 July 2005 and 31 December 2008 (both dates inclusive).
- Note: Candidates born between 01 September 2004 and 31 December 2008 are eligible to apply for INET 2025. Additionally, candidates will be eligible for the Stage II recruitment process of the respective batch as per the age criteria mentioned above.
- Marital Status: Only unmarried Indian male candidates are eligible for enrolment as SSR (Medical). Candidates must provide a certificate of being ‘unmarried’ at the time of enrolment. SSR (Medical) recruits are not permitted to marry during their entire tenure of four years in the Indian Navy. If a candidate marries during their tenure or is found to be already married despite providing a certificate of being unmarried, they will be dismissed from service.

Service Duration and Training
Selected candidates will serve for a period of four years. The initial training will be conducted at INS Chilka, followed by professional training at various Naval Training Establishments. This training will provide candidates with the opportunity to gain expertise in various aspects of the Navy and help them become skilled sailors.
Pay and Allowances
- Initial Training Period: During the initial training period, a stipend of ₹14,600/- per month will be admissible.
- Post-Training: Upon successful completion of initial training, recruits will be placed in Level 3 of the Defence Pay Matrix (₹21,700- ₹69,100). In addition, they will receive MSP @ ₹5200/- per month plus DA (as applicable).
- Promotion: Promotion prospects exist up to the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer-I, i.e., Level 8 of the Defence Pay Matrix (₹47,600- ₹1,51,100) plus MSP @ ₹5200/- per month plus DA (as applicable). Opportunities for promotion to commissioned officer also exist for those who perform well and qualify the prescribed examinations and clear Services Selection Boards.
Perquisites
During the entire period of training and thereafter, sailors are provided with books, reading material, uniforms, food, and accommodation as per entitlement. Sailors are also entitled to medical treatment, Leave Travel Concessions for self and dependents, and other benefits as per Navy regulations.

Selection Process
The selection process consists of two stages:
- Stage I (INET – Indian Navy Entrance Test): This is a written examination that will test candidates’ knowledge in general awareness, mathematics, and science.
- Stage II: This includes a physical fitness test, medical examination, and document verification.
