Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of either the Flow Cytometry & Cell Sorting Facility or the Mass Spectrometry Facility.
- Develop, optimize, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all instruments.
- Provide expert technical training and guidance to students, staff, and scientists on equipment usage and data interpretation.
- Conduct routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of sophisticated scientific instruments to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist principal investigators and researchers in experimental design and advanced data analysis.
- Oversee the management of consumables, reagents, and service contracts for the facility.
- Maintain accurate usage logs and contribute to facility reports and publications.
Required Qualifications
- A PhD in any branch of Life Sciences or a relevant subject from a recognized university.
- A minimum of two years of authenticated post-doctoral experience in either flow cytometry and cell sorting or mass spectrometry.
- The candidate’s age must not exceed 45 years as of June 20, 2024. Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India norms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to high-end scientific equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience managing a multi-user core research facility.
- A strong publication record showcasing expertise in the relevant technology (Flow Cytometry or Mass Spectrometry).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for training and collaborating with diverse research groups.
- Experience with relevant data analysis software packages (e.g., FlowJo, Proteome Discoverer, Scaffold).
Salary and Benefits
Successful candidates will be appointed at Pay Level-10 of the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) Pay Matrix.
– Pay Scale: ₹57,700 – ₹1,82,400 per month.
– Benefits: The position includes standard government allowances such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Transport Allowance (TA) as per Central Government norms.
