Job Summary
District Health and Family Welfare Society (DHFWS), Mysuru, under the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP), invites applications for the position of Insect Collector through walk-in interview. This is a temporary contractual role (11 months, renewable) based in Mysuru District. Candidates with SSLC/PUC Biology/DMLT qualifications are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
- Collect mosquito larvae and adults from designated breeding sites for disease surveillance.
- Survey and document mosquito breeding habitats in urban/rural areas.
- Dissect mosquitoes to detect parasites under supervision.
- Assist in Indoor Residual Spraying (IRS) and other vector control activities.
- Maintain field records and submit reports to the District Health Officer.
- Participate in public health awareness programs related to vector-borne diseases.
Required Qualifications
- Educational Qualification:
- SSLC (10th pass) OR
- PUC (10+2) with Biology OR
- Diploma in Medical Lab Technology (DMLT) OR
- Health Inspector Course.
- Age Limit: 18–35 years (relaxation applicable as per Karnataka Govt rules).
- Physical Fitness: Ability to conduct fieldwork in varied terrains.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in entomology fieldwork or public health programs.
- Basic knowledge of mosquito species identification.
- Familiarity with NVBDCP guidelines or similar health initiatives.
Salary and Benefits
Monthly Salary: ₹16,000 (consolidated).
Contract Duration: 11 months (subject to renewal based on performance).
Work Location: Mysuru District, Karnataka.
