Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research for the project “Exploring the efficacy of pre- and post-synaptic glutamatergic receptors in mitigating excitotoxicity-induced mitochondrial dysfunction and apoptosis in an in-vitro model of ischemic stroke.”
- Perform advanced cell culture techniques as a primary responsibility.
- Execute various molecular biology protocols, including but not limited to PCR and Western Blotting.
- Manage immunohistochemistry procedures and conduct analyses using microscopy.
- Maintain accurate records of experiments, analyse data, and contribute to research publications.
- Collaborate with the principal investigator and other team members to meet project goals and deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- A Ph.D/MD/MS/MDS or an equivalent postgraduate degree in a relevant life science field.
- Alternatively, candidates with MVSc/M.Pharm/ME/M.Tech must have at least three years of research, teaching, or design/development experience post-qualification.
- A minimum of one research paper published in a Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal is mandatory for candidates applying with an MVSc/M.Pharm/ME/M.Tech degree.
- The maximum age limit for applicants is 40 years.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with cell culture is highly desirable.
- Proven expertise in molecular biology techniques.
- Prior experience with immunohistochemistry and related laboratory methods.
Salary and Benefits
The selected Research Associate will receive a consolidated salary of Rs. 58,000/- per month. In addition to the base pay, a 27% House Rent Allowance (HRA) will be provided as per institutional norms. This is a contractual position initially for six months, with the possibility of an extension for up to three years based on performance and project requirements.
