Job Summary
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur, invites applications for 108 Apprenticeship vacancies under the Apprentices Act 1961. This one-year training program offers opportunities for Graduate, Diploma, and ITI candidates across engineering, technical, and administrative disciplines. Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend (₹7,000–₹9,000) and hands-on experience at DRDO’s premier defence facility in Balasore, Odisha.
Eligibility: Candidates who passed qualifying exams in 2021, 2022, or 2023 may apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Graduate Apprentices: Assist in R&D projects related to Computer Science, Electronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, Journalism (B.A./B.B.A.), HR (MBA), or Library Science (B.Lib.Sc).
- Diploma Apprentices: Support technical operations in core engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, etc.).
- ITI Apprentices: Perform trade-specific tasks (Fitter, Electrician, COPA, Stenographer, etc.) under supervision.
- Adhere to DRDO’s safety protocols and confidentiality guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate Apprentices: B.E./B.Tech, B.Lib.Sc, B.A./B.B.A. (Journalism), or MBA (HR) from a recognized university.
- Diploma Apprentices: Diploma in Engineering (relevant stream).
- ITI Apprentices: ITI certificate in Fitter, Turner, Machinist, Electronics Mechanic, or other notified trades.
- Age Limit (as of application deadline):
- UR: 18–24 years | OBC: 18–27 years | SC/ST: 18–29 years | PwD: +5 years relaxation.
- Nationality: Indian nationals only.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship/training in defence/engineering sectors.
- Proficiency in technical documentation (for engineering roles).
- Basic computer skills (MS Office, COPA for ITI trades).
Salary and Benefits
Stipend:
- Graduate Apprentice: ₹9,000/month
- Diploma Apprentice: ₹8,000/month
- ITI Apprentice: ₹7,000/month
